Stopped in our way down to Key West and I loved the laid back vibe! Great drink selections with local beers available. Staff was all very attentive and personable. I loved eating by the water with an ice cold beer in hand! Restrooms were also SOOO clean and very updated!
We stood in a short line prior to be seated. The hostess wasn't the friendliest:( we sat in bar area (right next to the owner). he was there passing out bonuses and we were Surprised he didn't speak to our table. Whatever! The server was nice but not The best service! We ordered a dozen oysters only got 1/2 but they fixed it right away. We ordered the she crab soup which was so good! We split A large salad and ordered bread with it which Btw was sooo good!!! We did pay extra for it. We split the gulf pink shrimp which they were super small, surprising the size but the taste was really good. It was my Birthday and they "don't do birthday desserts!" Bummer, all and all we enjoyed it. Seems very popular place.
It was a horribly rainy day, but we really wanted to get out of the condo and enjoy our surroundings in some way. Everyone else must have had the same idea because this place was PACKED! Food was really good (I had fajitas). Drinks were amazing (I had way too many), and service was good (it took a bit for her to warm up to us, but she was super busy). We would come back on another visit to the area.
Island Fish Co is a wonderful restaurant, its HUGE, and has limited waterfront dining, but no matter where you sit the ambiance is great, the waitstaff are attentive and treat you like family. It is a wonderful place to watch the sunset, and to continue drinking into the night. They have all sorts of drinks, cocktails, seasonal drinks, and a wide selection of food, its not all just fish and seafood. We stop here and have a dinner every time we make a run down to the keys, which is several times a year. If you are staying or just passing through Marathon, this is a must go. Be sure to watch under the docks if you are there at night to watch the lights change color, the illuminated shallow water is magical.
Food & view were great. I had the breakfast sandwich that comes with scrambled eggs which I'm not a fan of. When asked if I could switch to over easy eggs, they were able to accommodate! Butter with the French toast was so light and fluffy. Everything was so nicely decorated for Christmas (including the ladies restroom). The bowl of sugar scrub in the restroom was such a nice touch too. Would've made it 5 stars if the parking lot didn't smell like human waste. Luckily you can't smell from inside.
We absolutely love Island Fish Co! One night, we got there and found ourselves craving pasta.... Do we decided to give their offerings a try. We were pleasantly surprised by how incredible their pasta dishes were; we thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Gail opted for the traditional spaghetti and meatballs, which was rich and flavorful, while I went for the linguine and clams, a dish that was equally delicious and perfectly prepared. We were both impressed by the generous portions--so much so that we left with takeaway boxes filled with enough food for two more meals! Each dish came beautifully served with a fresh salad and warm bread with butter, making for a satisfying dining experience. If you're in the mood for pasta, don't hesitate to visit Island Fish Co. You'll be delighted by their delicious offerings!
We were on a drive down the keys, but it was too far to make it to Key West. We decided to stop here for lunch, and then turn around. A wise decision. My partner is disabled, and the restaurant is very handicapped accessible. It's easy to get into the restaurant, and she said that the restrooms had plenty of room to move around in. The restrooms are up a short flight of stairs, but they also have a ramp to get to them. We loved the atmosphere. An old-fashioned seafood restaurant. Lots of cool decorations, that told us that yes, we were in the keys. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We decided to go with the hogfish platter.. For our starter, we chose a cup of the she-crab soup. . Oh my God... There was a good amount of crab in it, and the soup was smooth, silky, and so rich. It's one of the best seafood Chowder type soups we have ever had. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. I had the grilled hogfish, and my partner had hers broiled. We had never had hogfish before, so we didn't know quite what to expect. The fish was tender, flaky, and a bit sweet. Because hogfish feed on crustaceans, we could definitely notice that in the flavor of the fish. My fish was perfectly grilled. My partner's fish, there was a crust on top of it that was a bit spicy for her. But, with scraping off the crust, and sprinkling the fish with a good bit of lemon, she said it was still extremely good. The rice and veggies that came with the fish were perfect. The Dish did not eat overly heavy. My partner was stuffed, but there was no way I was going to leave without a slice of Key-lime pie. I liked the whipped cream that came with it, the pie was sweet and tangy. Just an absolutely excellent piece of pie. The price was on the higher end, but considering this is a higher end restaurant on the keys, plus with the quantity of the food, it was definitely worth it. They also offer a military/veterans discount. Next time we are down in the keys, we would love to stop here again. Thank you
Amazing service great food Everytime I go to Marathon this is a must for us. Will definitely be back
This is a fun, open air, tropical designed and typical casual Keys restaurant that serves fresh fish prepared in a variety of ways with tropical themed cocktails. The menu has a large varieties of appetizers, salads, soup, sandwiches, fish, steaks, and pasta. Everyone can find something to eat. The fresh fish is the star in the Keys and we had 2 seafood appetizers chased down with cocktails on this stop. Vicky was our pleasant and hardworking server. She was working hard, but always with a smile. We ordered two local beers to start and then moved on to their strawberry jalapeno margarita and the Island Mule. We both enjoyed our drinks. We shared the conch fritters and the shrimp ceviche. We added jalapeno to our ceviche to kick it up a bit. The ample portion size for each dish left us no room for entrees. We liked both our choices. I noticed that their kitchen pumps out the food. Tables around us were also being served shortly (within 15mins) after placing orders. It was impressive. This is my kind of place. I suspect we will be back this week to try some entrees and more cocktails.
